FMWR for
Post - Deployment

Soldiers , Families and friends experience lot’s of changes when the Soldier returns.  These changes can create a lot of stress. Causes include; experiences during deployment, changes in Family structure, financial difficulty, unrealistic expectations and drug or alcohol use.  Often Soldiers who were best buddies while deployed focus on old relationships when they return ignoring the bonds they made downrange. Married Soldiers may feel their spouse now does everything and doesn’t need them. Families often feel distant emotionally and young children may not seem excited to see the parent who was gone. Household rules often change and the returning Soldier may not like the ways things are done now. All of these problems are normal and require understanding, compromise and adjustment.  There is always someone to listen to your feeling and help sort out the changes and difficulties.  Check out all the resources FMWR can offer.

Never be afraid that feelings are not real, or that no one understands or cares. There is always someone who cares and will listen.
