Youth Hail/Farewell

The Army Youth Sponsorshop/S2S Hail/Farewell is a program to recognize the new youth in the Vicenza Community and say goodbye to our departing youth.
Eligibility: New/Departing Youth and Registered Army Youth Sponsor/S2S Youth
When: Immediately following school
Where: Arena Entertainment Center
What: Free bowling, cake, food & drink
Youth Centers Ski/Snowboard Winter 2009/2010
The 2009/2010 season has ended but please check back later this year to find out the 2010/2011 schedule.
The following information typically applies every ski/snowboard season:
Cost includes transportation, supervision, and FREE
Ski/Snowboard group clinics, and lodging (Garmisch).
Times vary per trip.
Enrollment begins: TBA.
Available for grades 6 – 12 (except overnight Garmisch trips, grades 7 – 12).
All trips depart/return to the Teen Center, Building 373.
Enrollment deadlines are one day prior to each trip (COB 4:30 p.m.).
All enrollments will be done at the Davis Soldier and Family Readiness Center, CYSS Parent Central Registration, Building 108.
POC is Michael Morris at Youth Program, 634-7659.
Minimum number of youth per trip: 5 participants.
Maximum number of youth per trip: 20 participants.
YP Homework Center, Located in the Vicenza Community Library Conference Room, open to Youth Grades 6-12, Open 3-6p.m. all school days
The Youth Program (Middle School & Teen) offers programming from the four service areas:1) Art, Recreation & Leisure, 2) Sport, Fitness & Health, 3) Mentoring, Intervention,& Education Support, 4) Life Skills, Citizenship & Leadership. We are partnered with the Boys & Girls Club of America and 4-H for program support.
The Youth Program strives to create learning & leadership qualities through fun activities in a safe environment with a friendly supportive staff to help engage youth. The Youth Program offers an environment where teens can come and be themselves, and fee comfortable doing so without being judged by others.
The Youth Program has board games, video games, billiards, foosball, table tennis, and a gym for open recreation.
Youth Program lunch programs are as follows:
• 6th grade lunch program escorts youth from school and back, following their lunch.
• 7-12 grades, the Teen Center has open recreation from 12:45 p.m. - 1:20 p.m. Teens are welcome to bring their food and eat at the Teen Center, or come over after eating their lunch!
There will be games, music, sports and much more!
Youth Sponsorship
Military communities are famous for relocating every few years. It’s a tough time for everyone, leaving somewhere familiar for lands unknown. Youth Sponsorship is all about making the transitions easier and less stressful. Whether you’re new to Vicenza, Italy, or PCSing to a new location, we’re here to help.
Youth Program Homework Center:
The YP Homework Center in the Vicenza Community Library is a place where youth can sit down and work on their homework in a quiet environment. There will be a YP staff on-hand to supervise and assist youth with homework. The center is equipped with four computers for youth to work on homework (priority) or simply check e-mail. the YP Homework Center is open every school day 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. for CYS registered youth grades 6-12!
Torch Club:
The Torch Club is a Boys and Girls Club of America chartered small group leadership and service club for youth ages 11-13. Club members learn to elect officers, and work together to plan and implement activities in four areas. Service to club and community, education, health, fitness, and social recreation. All officers are elected annually at the beginning of the school year. Special elections are held as required (PCS or other emergencies). Plans and sponsor activities such as table tournaments, dance, trips and tours.
Keystone Club:
The Keystone Club is a Boys & Girls Club of America chartered small group leadership and service club for youth ages 14-18. Club members learn to elect officers and work together to plan and implement activities in four areas: service to club and community, education, health and fitness and social recreation.
Power Hour: Monday - Friday, 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.
Power hour helps club members be more successful in school by providing homework help and tutoring and encouraging members to become self-directed learners. Members can earn power points and cash in on awards as established by the coordinator.
Cooking Club:
Members prepares healthy food items for consumption at the meeting. Food is provided at no cost to members, however, members must participate in preparing food in order to consume it.
Fitness Club:
Come challenge yourself and friends to games of kickball, ping pong, dodgeball and more!
Fine Arts
Explore your artisitic abilities through book making, cartooning, scrapbooking and more.
Computer Lab: Monday - Friday, 3-7 p.m.
Between the Villaggio Youth Center, Teen Center (Caserma Ederle), and Homework Center Computer Labs, the Youth Program has 18 computers, laser jet printers, speakers, head phones, digital cameras, a scanner and more software than you can imagine. The opportunities are far and wide within this exciting land of computers! Youth can come, browse and experiment, play games, there is a large assortment of educational software (math, reading, and languages), use of the computer for research, homework...OR take part in one or more of the programs that utilize the Computer Lab. Parent permission for computer use is required.
4-H
4-H is the youth education branch of the Cooperative Extension Service, a program of the United States Department of Agriculture. Each state and each county has access to a County Extension office for both youth and adult programs. Four-H is open to youth regardless of race, religion, color, gender, national origin, handicap or place of residence. Most states have programs for youth who are 5 to 19 years old.
All Teen/Middle School students must be registered with Parent Central Services
at the Davis Soldier & Family Readiness Center to use the Vicenza Youth Centers. It is free of charge!
